Michelle Obama to Release a Hip Hop Album ft. DMC, Ashanti and Others

Michelle Obama is releasing a hip hop album. And, no, you won't hear her dropping any rhymes.

In her continuing efforts to fight childhood obesity through her "Let's Move!" campaign, the First Lady has partnered with Partnership for a Healthier America and the Hip Hop Public Health Foundation to release a 19-song compilation album to encourage kids to exercise and make healthy food choices.

Artists like Run DMC, Ashanti, Doug E. Fresh, Monifah and American Idol winner Jordin Sparks are all contributing their vocal talents to the album, which is called Songs for a Healthier America. Also featured on the album are Matisyahu, Ariana Grande and Blink-182's Travis Barker, working under the moniker Salad Bar. The New York Knicks' Iman Schumpert and Nils Lofgren of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band also contribute.
The album features tracks with names like "We Like Vegetables," "Veggie Luv," "Get Up Sit Up" and "U R What You Eat," all designed to get kids thinking about health and diet. Ten music videos are set to be released with the album and will be distributed to schools in New York City, with other major cities to follow.

While Mrs. Obama isn't rapping on the record, she will appear in videos for the album's singles, the first of which is out now. Watch the video for "Everybody" featuring Jordin Sparks, Doug E. Fresh, Dr. Oz, the Hip Hop Doc and an appearance by the First Lady
