Nigerian society is failing- President Goodluck Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan, while speaking at the official kick-off of the National Christian Campaign on Social Transformation in Abuja on Friday made some very strong accusations against pastors, parents, and the society in general. He said the whole Nigerian society is failing seriously. Read full story as you continue……

The president who was represented by the Minister of Urban Development, Ms. Amal Pepple, said parents were now paying for 'expo' in examinations and also sponsoring 'wonder centres' for their children during the JAMB examinations.

President Jonathan said some parents now fight with teachers who disciplined their kids and also encouraged their children to insult adults. Speaking further, he said:

“The whole society has failed, that is one reason we have incidents of cultism, armed robbery, murder, ritual killing, drugs, sale of babies, kidnapping and sexual immorality.

“Indeed, we have lost our moral values and principles, so much has gone wrong in our family life, schools, churches and society in general.”

Jonathan therefore challenged the church to lead the campaign to return good values and morals and bring the much needed transformation in the society.

Also speaking at the event, President of CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor said:

“When you look at Nigeria today, we are deceiving ourselves, Pastors are deceiving members, members are deceiving their Pastors, Husbands are deceiving their Wives, Wives deceiving their Husbands, Parents deceiving their Children, Children deceiving their Parents.

What is really making the Nigeria society a failed one? Is it the Political leaders, Church Pastors, Oil Companies, or The citizens?
