Game show gives away newly born babies as prizes in Pakistan

Wonder shall never end as a game show in Pakistan is attempting to raise its ratings by giving away newborn babies, according to The Mirror. The unconditional love of a newborn child is a decent prize isn’t it……..lol
they are giving away a child on national television bizarre, inhumane and unethical? You bet, which is exactly why it makes for great television. To date, the TV game show Amaan Ramazan, which is Pakistan's answer to The Price is Right, has twice offered newborns to unsuspecting contestants. Let's hope the lightning round features diapers, formula and full college tuition.

"The stunts have been roundly condemned … but they may have actually helped save the children who had been abandoned at birth," The Mirror reports. Each month, mothers abandon hundreds of babies in Pakistan where giving birth out of wedlock is punishable by death.

The Chhipa Welfare Association, a charity that rescues abandoned babies, supplied both newborns for the game show. In each case, the couple had previously approached the organization about adopting a child.

Still, that's one heck of a prize. Imagine the conversation that kid's going to have with his parents when he asks where babies come from: "When a mommy and daddy fall in love, they go on a game show, and if they can correctly guess the price of a box of soap… ta-dah!"
